–I am happily surprised with the amount of skiers. It has been noticeable throughout this winter that people prefer local sports venues instead of traveling during these times, Kalle Kyhälä, CEO of Ruskotunturi, says.

–Of course, the most decisive factor in these skiing tasks is always the weather, and that's what favors us now. Compared to the previous couple of winters, this winter has been really good and all three lifts and five slopes have been in operation non-stop.

Ruskotunturi have precise corona guidelines in use. The slope cafés sell food and drink only for al fresco dining. There is no limit to the number of lift tickets for sale, but only six people at a time is allowed in to the rental shop and ticket sales points.

–In Ruskotunturi, we have introduced online sales of elevator tickets this winter. Thanks to that, there is no need to do business at the ticket office. Rental equipment can also be booked online, Kalle Kyhälä says.

He is not worried about congestion in the elevator queues.

–With skis and snowboards, safety distances are easy to keep. I have observed that people like to stay in their own little groups of friends and family in the area of the resort.
